Rinde Eckert, a 2007 Pulitzer Prize finalist in drama, is critically renowned as a playwright, composer, director, and performer. His opera/new music theatre productions tour throughout America and to major festivals in Europe and Asia. Recent writing credits include Horizon (2007-08 Drama Desk nominations for Best Play and Best Director, Lucille Lortel Award for Unique Theatrical Experience), Orpheus X (Pulitzer Prize nomination), Highway Ulysses, Four Songs Lost in a Wall (2005 American Academy of Arts and Letters Marc Blitzstein Award), And God Created Great Whales (Obie Award for Best Performance, Drama Desk nomination for Unique Theatrical Experience), the one-act play set An Idiot Divine, text for the oratorio Dream House, and text for the recording Sand Hills Reunion. He received a 2007 Guggenheim Fellowship. Rinde Eckert lives in New York.
